Delta Q: quantum frontiers, one step at a time.

Our flagship department builds ion traps for quantum computing and a trap for studying matter and antimatter together.

In development

A trapped-ion quantum processor

We are building a Paul-trap quantum processor that holds calcium or barium ions in a line and uses lasers to run logic operations on them. The work covers coherence, error rates and the algorithms needed to scale.

In design

An electron–positron trap

A dedicated trap to confine electrons and positrons for precise studies of how matter and antimatter interact, with applications in fundamental physics and precision atomic measurements.

Also on the bench

  • Precision instrumentation

Narrow-linewidth lasers, RF resonators, ultra-high vacuum systems.

  • Sensors and AI/ML

Applied work that links the lab to industry and local needs.
